Nashua Design Gallery to Celebrate Grand Opening
Cathy Kert Interiors, a new Nashua design gallery offering on-site design help and earth friendly product options, will celebrate its grand opening this week with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, and a $10,000 Michael Payne window makeover sweepstakes.

Cathy Kert Interiors, a new Nashua design gallery offering on-site design help and earth friendly product options, will celebrate its grand opening this week with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, and a $10,000 Michael Payne window makeover sweepstakes.

The celebration begins with an evening soiree on Thursday, April 9, where the gallery is open and refreshments will be served from 5-9 p.m. Festivities continue on Saturday, April 12, when festivities will kick off with a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting by the mayor, which will be attended by other local dignitaries. Saturday will also include a $10,000 Michael Payne Window makeover sweepstakes, introduction of new spring fabric lines, and other small giveaways and refreshments throughout the day. 

Formerly of Beckonings Gallery, owner and designer Cathy Kert says she opened her new shop to focus on design-with earth friendly design options.

"I think people are really short of time, and they want to have good consumer choices," says Cathy, who explains that green design also means healthy design, an important factor for parents looking for organic materials that won't stir up children's allergies. "They want to buy stuff their kids are going to be around that's going to be healthy," she says.

Green choices include fabric and bedding, as well as eco-friendly Lee Industries upholstered furniture, which Cathy describes as American contemporary. "The Lee furniture has an edgy, younger design without being super trendy," says Cathy.

The new design center also offers on-site interior design help, a large fabric selection, drapery hardware, furniture, lamps, and accessories. "We always have a designer on-site and welcome people to stop in, browse, discuss their design needs, look at our fabrics and catalogs," says Cathy.

Cathy Kert Interiors is located on 85 West Pearl Street in Nashua, and is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Thursdays until 7 p.m. To find out more, visit www.cathykertinteriors.com
